Wexford Transfers: Airport, Ferry Port and Venues

Groups reach Wexford one of two ways: by road from Dublin Airport, about 150 km and roughly two hours on the M11/N11, or off a ferry at Rosslare Europort, about 20 km south of the town. We arrange both legs with a licensed, insured operator and driver, then the local movements in between.

The two-hour airport leg

At around two hours each way, the Dublin Airport transfer sets the shape of arrival day. Work the collection time from the scheduled landing, then add baggage reclaim and the walk out. Private-hire coaches collect only from the Zone 16 coach park, so brief passengers to go there, not to the terminal bus stops, which are kept for scheduled services.

For departures, coaches may set down on the T2 Departures Road Inner, outside Terminal 2 check-in. Count back from the airline's check-in close, allow the full two hours of road and a margin for traffic around Dublin, and put the resulting hotel pickup time on the booking.

Meeting a sailing at Rosslare Europort

Rosslare Europort runs ferries to Wales and France. For a group coming off a sailing, send the route, the scheduled arrival, whether passengers travel on foot and how much luggage they carry. The operator confirms where the vehicle will wait and how the group reaches it.

If the first night is in Wexford, the port run is short. If the itinerary heads on to Dublin or further, treat it as a full transfer and plan a comfort stop.

Hotel rounds, opera nights and match days

Hotels sit on the Quay in the town centre, at Ferrycarrig and at Rosslare Strand. List every hotel; the operator checks where the vehicle can stop and stage at each, then sets the running order. For the National Opera House (where Wexford Festival Opera is staged) or a fixture at Chadwicks Wexford Park, send the start time and expected finish so the return is booked in advance.

Short connections are easy to add: Johnstown Castle and Curracloe are each about 15 minutes out, Enniscorthy about 25. The Dunbrody Famine Ship at New Ross (about 40 minutes) and Hook Lighthouse (about an hour) pair well as one longer half-day.

Repeat shuttles

A regular service is different from a one-off movement: coach operators need Wexford County Council approval to use an existing or proposed bus or coach stop for it. Mention the pattern at enquiry stage so the operator can plan stops that work.

Questions

How long should we allow from Dublin Airport to a Wexford hotel?

About two hours of driving for the roughly 150 km, plus time for reclaim and the walk to Zone 16. With a large group, add a few minutes for late arrivals before the coach leaves.

Can one booking cover a ferry arrival and a flight home?

Yes. Send both legs together with dates, times and passenger numbers, and ask for each movement to be listed separately on the quote.

Can we add a stop at Curracloe on the way in from Rosslare?

Usually, as it is about 15 minutes from Wexford. Say so at booking so the extra time is built into the transfer.
