Five Airports, One Transfer Plan
Most groups arrive through Dublin, Cork, Shannon, Ireland West Airport Knock or Kerry. Select an airport for its terminals and road time to the city, then build the arrival and departure legs around them.
Arrival waves, not one pickup
Delegates rarely land together. Group the flights into waves and decide how long the first passengers can wait. One vehicle per wave costs vehicle time; one vehicle holding for several flights costs waiting time. Send the flight list and the quote sets out the pattern that fits.
Car or coach changes the licence
Up to eight passengers, the vehicle has to be an NTA-licensed hackney or limousine, booked ahead with the fare agreed. From nine passengers up, the operator works under a Road Passenger Transport Operator Licence. A VIP car and a delegate coach are therefore different kinds of booking, even on the same flight.
Regulations that apply
- At Dublin Airport, private-hire coaches collect passengers at the Zone 16 coach park
Departures run to a deadline
For a return flight, give the latest time the group must reach the terminal, not the take-off time. At Dublin, coaches may set down outside Terminal 2 on the departures road but may not park there. Leave margin for the M50 and city traffic at peak hours.
Questions
How far is each airport from the city it serves?
Dublin is about 10 to 12 km from the centre, Cork about 8 km, Shannon about 27 km from Limerick, Knock about 55 km from Sligo and Kerry about 15 minutes from Killarney.
Where does the driver meet the group?
It varies by airport. At Dublin, for example, coaches collect only at Zone 16. Your confirmation states the meeting point.
Can departures go on the same booking?
Yes. Add the departure legs with flight times and both directions are quoted together.
