Letterkenny Group Transport: Airports, Glenveagh and Inishowen
Letterkenny is a long way from Ireland's main airports: Dublin is about 240 km and three hours by road. The regional airport at Carrickfinn is about 45 minutes by road and Ireland West Airport Knock is another option, so the choice of airport decides how much of arrival day goes on the road.
The three-hour Dublin connection
A Dublin Airport transfer takes up much of a driver's day. Daily driving is capped at 9 hours, extendable to 10 hours twice a week, and a break of at least 45 minutes is needed after 4.5 hours at the wheel. A return run to Dublin is about six hours of driving on its own, so an airport transfer and a same-day tour will not usually fit one driver's shift.
Inbound, the pickup point is Zone 16; outbound, set-down is outside Terminal 2 check-in. Plan a comfort stop on the way.

Carrickfinn and Knock
Carrickfinn (Donegal Airport) is the short option: roughly 45 minutes of driving. Knock sits on the N17, halfway between Galway and Sligo; waiting is not permitted in its drop-off zone and it does not publish a coach park, so the meeting point is agreed with the operator in advance.

Glenveagh by shuttle
Glenveagh National Park is about 30 minutes out. No private vehicle goes beyond the visitor centre: coaches and cars park there, and a dedicated park shuttle carries visitors on to the castle. Groups book their arrangements online; send that confirmation with your transfer request so arrival at the car park lines up with it.
Inishowen, Derry and the long runs
Grianán of Aileach is about 25 minutes away and Derry, in Northern Ireland, about 35. Malin Head takes about 1 h 15 min and Slieve League about 1 h 45 min each way, which makes either a full day. In town, hotels are on Main Street and along Port Road; An Grianán Theatre and O'Donnell Park are short local legs. Where parking is not documented, the operator confirms set-down and staging for the addresses you send.
Questions
How long is the road transfer from Dublin Airport?
About three hours for the roughly 240 km. Allow extra for reclaim at the airport and a comfort stop on the way north.
Can the same driver do a Dublin run and a tour on one day?
Rarely. The return trip is about six hours of driving, and daily driving limits apply. Book the airport leg and any touring as separate days or separate drivers.
Can our vehicle drive up to Glenveagh Castle?
No. Drop-off is at the visitor centre, and from there the group rides the national park shuttle up to the castle.
