The Executive People Carrier for Airport Runs

A people carrier takes a small party and its luggage in one vehicle: a board of directors, a family off a long-haul flight or a four-ball with clubs. It sits between an executive saloon and a minibus.

Occupants and layout

The class covers the Mercedes V-Class and similar vans with 6 to 7 passenger seats. A V-Class holds up to 8 occupants including the driver, which means seven passengers. Seating varies by vehicle: bench rows, separate seats or luxury individual seats. Rear luggage space shrinks as rows fill, so seven adults with large cases may need a second vehicle or a minibus.

How the hire is licensed

Hired to carry up to 8 passengers, the vehicle must be licensed by the NTA as a hackney or limousine and be booked ahead at a fare set before travel. It cannot be hailed. Above that number, the job moves to a bus under a Road Passenger Transport Operator Licence. Ask for the licence type to be shown on the quote.

Where it fits a schedule

It suits executive airport transfers, VIP guests arriving outside the main group, families, and golf parties of up to four with bags. Shannon lets hired limousines wait in the same departures coach park as minibuses. For a conference, a people carrier can shadow the coach programme and handle late arrivals and early departures without holding a large vehicle.

Questions

What is the seat count for a V-Class booking?

The V-Class seats 8 in total, the driver included, which leaves room for 7. The quote states the exact count.

Is it booked like a taxi?

No. As an NTA-licensed hackney or limousine it is pre-booked with the fare fixed in advance, not hailed.

Will a full load of luggage fit?

Not always with every seat in use. Send the number and size of bags.

Can it take eight passengers?

No. A V-Class holds eight occupants including the driver, so seven passengers at most. For eight or more, book a minibus.
