Sligo Group Connections from Knock and Dublin
Most groups reach Sligo through Ireland West Airport Knock. The transfer is roughly 62 km on the N17 and N4, usually 45 to 60 minutes. The airport has its own rules for meeting passengers, so the pickup needs agreeing before anyone flies.
Meeting flights at Knock
Vehicles cannot wait in the terminal's drop-off zone, and the airport directs anyone meeting arrivals to its on-site car park. It does not publish a coach park. Agree the meeting point with the operator in advance and share it with the group, along with a contact name for the day.
Groups coming by road from Dublin take the N4 and M4 and pass the Kilcock to Kinnegad toll point.

Set-down in town
The council-run coach facility on Markievicz Road, a short walk from the town centre, is for dropping off and collecting groups; other vehicles that misuse it get ticketed. It is the obvious point to start and finish a walking programme or to collect a group after dinner.
Hotels are in the town centre, at Rosses Point and at Strandhill, the surf village to the west. A seaside hotel is a pleasant base but turns each evening in town into two short legs. Groups flying into Dublin Airport instead board at the Zone 16 coach park, then face a much longer road leg west.
Short connections for a programme
Carrowmore is about 10 minutes out, Drumcliffe about 15 and Lissadell House about 20, so a morning can cover all three and still return to town for lunch. Donegal town is about an hour north. Glencar Waterfall, towards Leitrim, suits a lighter afternoon.
Visiting sides playing Sligo Rovers at The Showgrounds or Sligo GAA at Markievicz Park usually need a hotel pickup timed to the warm-up rather than the throw-in or kick-off. Send the fixture time and the operator will work back from it.
Questions
Can a pilgrimage group combine Sligo with Knock Shrine?
Yes. The shrine is about 50 minutes from Sligo by road and about 20 km from the airport, so it also fits on an arrival or departure day.
Where should our coach collect people after an evening event in town?
The Markievicz Road coach facility is the council's designated drop-off and collection point. Give the finish time and the collection is booked for it.
What should a Sligo transfer request include?
Flights and airport, headcount with luggage, hotel, venue or visit times, and anything already booked. We pass the plan to a licensed, insured operator and return a quote covering every leg.
