Sixteen Cities and Towns, Mapped for Transfers
Each location page lists its event venues, hotel and pickup areas and nearby ports, with notes on where coaches can stop. Start with the city your group lands in or is based in.
Which airport serves which base
The nearest airport is not always the one with the flights. Kerry Airport at Farranfore is about 15 minutes from Killarney and roughly 17 from Tralee. Shannon is about 25 minutes from Limerick and a similar run from Ennis. Knock sits on the N17, about 45 minutes from Sligo. Drogheda is about half an hour from Dublin Airport and Dundalk about 50 minutes. From Dublin Airport, Kilkenny and Athlone are each about 1.5 hours, Wexford about 2 and Letterkenny about 3, so a Donegal group may prefer Donegal Airport at Carrickfinn, about 45 minutes out.
Venues outside Dublin
Conference and event work is not confined to the capital. Killarney has the Gleneagle INEC Arena about 1 km from the town centre, Limerick the University Concert Hall on the university campus, Wexford the National Opera House and Tralee Siamsa Tíre in the Town Park. Galway Racecourse at Ballybrit hosts conferences as well as race meetings. Each city page lists its venues and where groups usually stay.
Questions
What if the group is based somewhere else?
Send the address. Any start point in the Republic can be quoted, and the operator checks set-down at each stop.
How precise are the transfer times?
Treat them as estimates. They assume no stops and normal traffic.
Can a transfer cross into Northern Ireland?
Yes, as one leg of the trip. Derry is about 35 minutes from Letterkenny and Belfast about 1.25 hours from Dundalk.
