Coach parks, not the terminal door

Shannon bars hired minibuses and coaches from parking at the terminal front, whatever the hour. They wait instead in one of two dedicated coach and bus parks; the one at departures, Coach Park 2, also takes on-hire minibuses and limousines. The operator agrees the meeting point with you beforehand, so your arrival note can tell travellers to gather inside the hall and wait to be collected, not to wander outside looking for a bus.

With a single terminal, the real variable is how quickly a long-haul group clears baggage, which is why the operator tracks landings from the flight numbers you send and holds the vehicle in the coach park until the group is ready.

First legs out of Shannon

Limerick city is about 27 km and 25 minutes away; Ennis is about 22 km. Bunratty Castle, around 10 minutes away off the N18, is a common first stop when hotel rooms are not ready. Galway is about 1 h 10 min (94 km) by road. Routes that cross the Shannon on the N18 Limerick Southern Ring Road pay the Limerick Tunnel toll.

Ryder Cup week, September 2027

The 2027 Ryder Cup is at Adare Manor, Co. Limerick, with competition on 17 to 19 September. Adare is about 25 minutes from Limerick city. Hospitality and corporate groups flying into Shannon that week should send hotel locations and the daily programme as early as they can, so vehicles are allocated to real timings.

Flying back to the United States

Passengers bound for the US go through US immigration and customs checks at Shannon before they board. That step happens here, not on arrival, so the hotel pickup must leave room for it on top of normal check-in. Take the airline's recommended arrival time and work back from it.

Questions

Why can the vehicle not wait outside the terminal?

Shannon does not allow minibuses or coaches to park there at any time. They wait in the coach parks, and the operator arranges how the group is met and brought to the vehicle.

How long is the transfer to Limerick or Ennis?

About 25 minutes to Limerick city, and a similar drive to Ennis, which is about 22 km away. Allow extra at weekday peaks if a venue start time is fixed.

Is Shannon or Knock better for a Galway programme?

Both work. Knock is about 60 to 65 minutes from Galway and Shannon about 1 h 10 min, so choose on flight times and where the rest of the itinerary goes.
